Music Ministry

"He who sings, prays twice."
-- St. Augustine (St. Monica's son)

Music is an integral part of liturgy at St. Monica's, and our musicians (the congregation) are led by "Joyful Noise". These music ministers have supported parish liturgies for over 30 years - with varying combinations of instruments that have included guitar, flute, keyboard, clarinet, drums, and tambourine - and voices of all different ages and ranges.

Joyful Noise considers its "outside work" to be both ecumenism and evangelization, singing at the churches of other denominations, for company picnics, Homecomings, PTAs, nursing homes, for Masses at the Knights of Columbus, and even for the opening of legislative sessions. Any contributions received go to St. Monica's Special Projects.

Joyful Noise practices most Thursday evenings at 7:30PM. If you have a musical gift (vocal or instrumental) to share, or suggestions for Joyful Noise, please contact us at: joyfulnoise@stmonicaparish.org

Joyful Noise

WE ARE CALLED TO
praise and serve GOD,
our sisters and brothers
in music and song.

WE ARE CALLED TO
awaken our humanness, our
minds, our hearts and our
souls to the praise of GOD's
Name.

WE ARE CALLED TO
witness as an Alleluia People
to the resurrection of JESUS
CHRIST. His oneness with GOD
the Father and the HOLY SPIRIT.

WE ARE CALLED TO
proclaim in the HOLY SPIRIT
and spread the love of JESUS,
our Lord and Savior.

WE ARE CALLED TO
SERVE.
